The runways were alive this weekend at New York City Fashion week. Thousands of celebs and onlookers were on hand to check out fashion has for us next.
Beauty trends on the runway are a little more out of the box than normal. Blondes do have more fun, romantic hair accessories, “pink eye” is in along with a bold red lips and more. Here are some of the trends that made headlines this weekend and how to rock them yourself.
First let’s talk hair, and hair styling. Color wise, it’s all about being blonde! Alexander Wang’s models sported a variety of radical color transformations including bleach blonde color. Do you want to try blonde but you’re scared to make the change. No problem, we’ve got you covered. Here are some things to keep in mind before you take the color plunge.
Do you want your blonde color to look natural? Then never lighten your hair more than two shades. Also consider the color of your eyebrows. Your color will look fake if there is too much difference between it and your eyebrow color.
Another point to consider, does your hair get a reddish shimmer from the sun. Then, in this case the red pigments must be removed from your hair. Otherwise they will give your light blonde hair a yellow tinge. Special new blond color treatments have been developed for reddish hair. This will help neutralize/minimize the unwanted yellow tinge.
Do you already have blonde hair? You want to be careful when re-coloring. Your hair changes when it’s colored so the altered structure may lead to surprising colorations. This means, your hair may appear bolder than advertised on the package or more color pigments may penetrate the hair and make it darker than intended.
Once you’ve looked at all the variables, head to the drug store and pick your color. You want to apply color to hair that hasn’t been washed for 2-3 days. Follow the instructions on the package. Then once the color has been rinsed out of your hair, use Olea Conditioner. This conditioner is amazing at repairing any hair damage from coloring. In addition to that, Olea conditioner changes the texture and appearance of your hair with Extra-Virgin olive oil, restore dry and damaged hair and give it a healthy sheen. Our natural formula gives you immediate results by adding moisture to your hair and allows you to enjoy a long lasting softness. Our Olea conditioner transform dull lifeless hair to stronger, shinier and healthier hair.
Super vintage hair accessories are back in style on the runways. Ribbons, jewels, clips and chains haphazardly secured to models’ heads lent an eccentric quality to otherwise very feminine looks at Alexander McQueen and Dolce & Gabbana. And less carefree but equally youthful were prim and perfectly placed tiaras at Tommy Hilfiger. Whatever the look, all seem to be in agreement: the shinier, the better.
As far as hair styles go, slick hair is so in. Multiple designers had models walking with hair that looked like they got caught in a rainstorm without an umbrella. If you want to achieve this look, wash/condition your hair. Once you get out of the tub/shower,lightly towel dry your hair then add product such as hair jell or mouse to your hair then comb accordingly. The trick is don’t be afraid to add product, the greasier looking the better.
Now onto the face, models hitting the runways had a fuller eyebrow than in past years. Gigi Hadid made this famous by refusing to let anyone touch her brows. She only lets her team clean them up every once in a while. The thicker brow looks great with hot eye glasses. Yes you heard right, eye glosses not lip glosses. The lids at Dion Lee, tinted in shades of sheer fuchsia and tangerine by makeup artist Hannah Murray, were a fresh and wearable idea for eyes, rivaled only by Altuzarra’s delicate orange smudge and Gypsy Sport’s Technicolor gleam.
Many models caught a case of pink eye. This “pink eye” first emerged at Adam Selman, where artfully constructed topknots were accented with creamy pinks padded around the eyes, cheeks, and lips. Key makeup artist Emi Kaneko fused M.A.C’s For Your Amusement and Madly Magenta Casual Color together to orchestrate an “ode to the ’80s with a modern twist. So don’t be afraid to go a little pink next spring!
Red hot lips look to be big. A high-wattage mouth, done up in electric red, was the street style beauty statement to beat—gaining momentum after on-runway sightings on Lineisy Montero at Jason Wu and Lida Fox at Creatures of the Wind.
